|SAPPHIRE-BLUE BERYL, Serra do Pombas near Brumado, Bahia, Brazil. A most unusual beryl and an extremely rare specimen. It is a very large, partly gemmy, mass of beryl that is mostly of the deepest sapphire-blue color known in beryl. One chunk, of which this is the largest part, was discovered in Brazil around 1970. 5x2x2-1/4 inches.|
