BERYL (GEM AQUAMARINE), a superb, stout, modified, tabular, transparent crystal of fine blue color with a “negative” crystal inclusion, on matrix.
Pech, Nuristan, Kunar Province, Afghanistan.
Measures 3-3/4 x 2-1/2 x 2 inches. The aquamarine crystal measures 2-1/4 x 1-3/4 x 1 inch (thick) and the tabular habit is rare in aquamarine. It came from Herbert Obodda by exchange on July 23, 2003.
