UVAROVITE (andradite garnet) densely, minutely and brilliantly crystallized on CHROMITE.Saranowskii Mine, Saranowskaya Village, Gorozawod, Permskaya Oblast, Urals, Russia.Measures: 4 x 3-1/2 x 1/2 inches. There is some crystal development on the rear of the matrix. This large, important specimen went to the Harvard Mineralogical Museum as a gift of C.T. Diedrich in 1924; then to Hugh A. Ford. The Harvard and Ford labels survive.Price $3,500
